International Award for Public Art

Since 2014, What About Art’s Director, Eve Lemesle, has been a researcher and nominator for the International Award for Public Art (IAPA) organized by the Institute for Public Art of the University of Shanghai.

The prize focuses on public art as a place-maker and generator of social capital world-wide. It does this through researching case studies, sharing information and promoting great examples.

In 2019, What About Art nominated Pakistani artist collective, The Tentative Collective’s Mera Karachi Mobile Cinema for the IAPA, which won the award.
